Remember that a varied diet naturally contains antioxidants and should not fall into excess.

Antioxidants: probably already live in the cupboards of your kitchen

We know about antioxidants in the form of fruits, blueberries, in addition, some dried fruits like nuts, but we sometimes think less of spices and herbs that can be included in the kitchen every day.

One of the richest antioxidant foods, the berries of some non-toxic thus (sumacs), have an average ORAC of 312.400 μmol TE/100 g. For comparison, the pomegranate has an average ORAC of 2860/100g.

1. Clove

Among the aromatic herbs, the champion is by far the clove. While this may remind you of the dentist, clove has an average ORAC of 290.283/100g.


2. Spirulina

You have probably heard a lot about Spirulina, an extremely rich micro-algae.

Dry rosemary has an ORAC of 165.280/100g. Rosemary is delicious for cooking, for vegetables, marinades, or even potatoes. Some add it to olive oil, add it to infusions or flavor lemonade with it.


5. Thyme

7. Sage

Like rosemary, it is easy to use with roasts, including vegetables, but also with pasta in creamy sauces, and in soups. Perfect for winter vegetables, especially the famous old vegetables like butternut or rutabaga.
